Minimum instrumentation needed: flute, clarinet, euphonium (or tenor sax) and bass, all about intermediate standard. The other parts are easier, but the more you have the better it sounds.

GARN WEST
Symphonic Windband & Squaredance Caller. Duration: c. 8' 00".
[Moderately difficult] Three melodic and foot-tapping movements:
1. Shades of Parades. A Tribute to Charles Ives, with several bands appearing and simultaneously playing different marches.
2. Meanwhile . . . Resting under the night-time prairie sky, the band hums a well-known melody.
3. Lowdown Hoedown. The caller encourages the dancers to take the floor for increasingly bizarre antics.
PP0062. Full score, conductor score & 36 parts complete.

GOLIATH'S DEFEAT
2 Clarinets, 3 Trumpets, F Horn, Trombone, 2 Percussion. Duration: c. 10'00".
[Difficult] Programme music at its best, premiered by Huddersfield University students in 1993 and later played by the London Sinfonietta. 'Well worth looking at . . .'- Clarinet & Saxophone. 'A good item for the "band within a band". And it's fun to rehearse too! Winds.
PP0024. Score & 9 parts.

WALLOON MARCH
Wind band. Duration c. 2'10".
[Intermediate] The first ever arrangement for wind band of this lively orchestral march composed in 1857 to celebrate the wedding of the Archduke Maximilian to Princess Charlotte of Belgium. Josef, the younger brother of Johann, was a civil engineer before becoming a professional musician, and probably the only composer in history to invent a street-cleaning machine (for Vienna City Council).
Full score, conductor score & 32 parts.
