[Advanced] Possibly the best-known of all Bach's organ works. First performed in this version by the London Serpent Trio during the 1991 St Albans Organ Festival, where it delighted an audience of organ fanatics. 'The technical challenges are probably too great for many younger players, but the experienced musician should have little problem'.- TUBA Journal.

[Moderately difficult] Three movements - Allemande, Sarabande and Gigue - reminiscent of the great master who died almost eighty years before the tuba was invented. Curiously, a well-known nursery song appears at the end of the final movement. The first and second movements are included in the Guildhall School of Music & Drama's Syllabus of Tuba Exams at Grade 5. 'Although probably not recommended for a doctoral recital, it can reach a wide audience, and is not too difficult to play'.-TUBA Journal.

[Moderately difficult] Possibly the first piece ever composed for serpent with piano accompaniment, it presents the traditional American song The Pesky Sarpent in various guises. Premiered in Boston, Mass., by Doug Yeo, who has also recorded it with pianist Deborah De Wolfe Emery for release on CD at the end of 2003.

[Moderately difficult] First European performance by the London Serpent Trio at Wavendon. It may be significant that the USA première was by the Columbia Broken Consort (tuba, serpent and bassoon) which disbanded immediately afterwards. '. . . fun to play, once the players have the syncopation down steady, and is sure to please any audience'. - Serpent Newsletter.

[Difficult] A demanding work, composed by a gifted young tubist. The piece presents some strikingly unusual sonorities and makes both technical and musical demands, but these never lie beyond conventional techniques.

[Moderately difficult] A new arrangement of a mini-Savoy Orpheans medley first played by the Temperance Seven in 1961. Optional tubular bells, band vocal and tuba solo add glitter to the festive feeling.

[Moderately difficult] A Victorian parlour song arrangement premiered by the London Serpent Trio in St Albans Abbey. It was probably the first time in 900 years that a congregation (during the Organ Festival) had erupted into spontaneous and sustained laughter. '. . . should find a niche in any tuba ensemble's repertoire'.- TUBA Journal.

[Moderately difficult/difficult] This arrangement for brass band low brass is compatible with, though not identical to, the bass clef tuba version, PP0029. The tutti play the big tune at the end and can consist of any other brass players who happen to be available.

[Moderately difficult/difficult] Can involve the audience: at St John's Smith Square with pins and balloons; at the RNCM and Bromley Music Centre with paper bags. An unforgettable finale '. . . one of the most successful arrangements for massed tubas I have heard, it should work well with any group from high school up, ranges of the top euphonium and tuba parts being the only concern.'- TUBA Journal.
