Ralph Dudgeon, keyed bugle, is professor of music at SUNY-Cortland and author of The Keyed Bugle (1993), the definitive publication on this instrument. Ralph has contributed articles to The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, The New Grove Dictionary of Musical Instruments, The New Grove Dictionary of American Music, the American Musical Instrument Society Journal, and the Historic Brass Society Journal. He has appeared throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, and Mexico as a soloist, and his debut album, Music for Keyed Bugle, was the first full-length recording devoted to the keyed bugle. Ralph commissioned and premiered Simon Proctor's Concerto for Keyed Bugle in 1994.
