Grande Harmonie by Le Chevalier Louis (active c. 1794 – post-1841) edited by Nessa Glen for flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, trumpet, trombone, and serpent/contrebasse (SAR 0114)

Excerpts from accompanying notes and commentary
by Nessa Glenn:

Chef de Musique au 1er Regiment de la Garde Royal, the Chevalier Louis composed a number of works for winds, including a Journal d'Harmonie (1821-1823) in collaboration with Friederich Berr (Chef de Musique au 2e Regiment Suisse de la Garde Royal), Francois Marchal (Chef de Musique de la 20e Legion), and Conrad Munchs (Sous-chef de Musique au 6e Regiment de la Garde ). Louis and Munchs were involved in a later Journal de Musique Militaire, c. 1832-1835. In about 1803 Louis arranged Lesuer's Marche seraphique (Taceat terra) du couronnement [of Napoleon] executee a Rheims dans la ceremonie du sacre for winds and, in 1821, he arranged the overture to Adams' opera Le Brasser de Preston for a large wind band.” by Nessa Glen
