[Moderately difficult] By the composer of The Entry of the Gladiators, who described his Der Alte Brumbär, or Bear with a Sore Head, as a 'comic polka'. The solo instrument's genial nature is exploited by the composer, who began his career as an Austrian army bassoonist.
