David Loucky, trombone and ophicleide, has been professor of trombone at Middle Tennessee State University since 1989. He has performed and lectured at several International Trombone Festivals and International Tuba-Euphonium Conferences and is an active performer with the Nashville Symphony, the New Hampshire Music Festival, and, for two seasons, as Assistant Principal Trombonist with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. |

Dave received the Doctorate of Musical Arts from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, with additional studies in Cologne, Germany, and Vienna , Austria in both classical and jazz traditions. He engages in research on the ophicleide and collaborates with composers who are interested in writing new works for the instrument. |
